Neoclassical mansion in St. Petersburg
Strict neoclassical forms and features of this house is a modern interpretation of techniques by American classic Frank Lloyd Wright. Metal seam roofing with a barely noticeable slope mildly "flattens" the building — thus, despite the size, the house harmoniously matches the landscape.
Materials selection highlights a bold synthesis of classics and high-tech: long-size rigel brick, marble, wood are organically integrated with columns of satin metal and black lights on the facade.
A covered terrace with a barbecue is complemented by objects according to Studio's own design sketches — a table, a worktop and a wave-like chandelier. The agate slab pattern on the wall originally echoes with the woodpile. An elegant structural and decorative solution is embedded into bearing columns shapes as visually feather-light clusters of bronze pipes. The same composition appears near the main building - as a detached art object on the terrace. There are huge vases with live plants next to it, also being author's Studio work: common items in an unusual size - an interesting example of playng with a scale
